Puyallup Wedding Photographer | Fort Worden Beach Wedding {Firstlight Photography}
Alex and Nichole made this wedding effortless. We have the best couples.
Firstlight Photography met Alex Baerg and Nichole Faire (now Baerg) at a South Sound Wedding and Event show in Bremerton, WA. Kier started taking with the potential groom and they hit it off – sharing a love of BMW’s was the connection. Engaging the grooms is so important – especially since they always seem so bored at shows!
Alex and Nichole were looking for wedding venues and toured Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, WA and fell in love with the outdoor setting and the onsite chapel. The location is quite fitting since Alex is a naval officer and Fort Worden State Park is a decommissioned fort/turned state park. It was also used in the filming of “An Officer and a Gentleman.”
Their ceremony was held in the chapel and the naval officers/groomsmen drew their swords into a sword arch as the newlyweds exited the chapel. To be able to pass each set of lowered swords, the couple were required to kiss. As they finally made it through the last set of swords, an officer tapped Nichole on the tush and said, “Welcome to the Navy!”
This wedding featured all of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest (greenery, water views and even a light house) with the classic setting of the Fort. There are many rustic elements that serve as the perfect backdrop for photos.
DIY elements included table and centerpiece décor and Nichole’s brother-in-law catered an amazing meal. Vendors included: Photography – Firstlight Photography; Venue – Fort Worden State Park; Dress – Maggie Sottero; Flowers – Diane Hendrix with Shandi Designs; Cake – Port Townsend Safeway; DJ – Rob Farster.
